It's been a while since my last build whilst trying to choose what to build next! Love the look of this one, I hope to do it justice.

I done exactly the same with my last build, don’t be put off, just remember, a bit of glue as good as new!?

Thanks for the kind comments, very much appreciated especially coming from such talented craftsmen as yourself. It's inspired me to do more, I think I'm addicted!?

Decided to go drop anchor, quite pleased with it in the end.?

I got it stuck in the neck of the bottle and I pushed a bit to hard. It cracked the yard in half but luckily in didn't fall apart, but all' good Now!??

Damn it! Broke a yard! Waiting for glue to set.☹️☹️

Tried making sails but can’t get them to look right, I think I need more practice and as it’s a birthday present I’m running out of time.

Changed my mind, No sails! Don’t think my skill set is ready yet, tried and tried but can’t get them to look any good, so maybe the next one with a bit more time and practice ! So it’s going in the bottle and the anchor is getting dropped.?

Sea is done, decorators caulking and acrylic paint. Will cut into 3 slices and stick back together and touch up joins in bottle.

Agreed, sails it is! I think it will give it a lease of life. Ive found one photo of it with sails on Wikipedia so I will try to copy it. Thanks for your opinions.?

So as the bottling draws near I find myself with the decision ; sails or no sails?

The cutty sark has very little evidence, ie pictures of it with any sails! I really like the look of it moored and only photos I can find are either it moored or being pulled by tugboat.

So I wonder what everyone else thinks??

A very fiddly shroud fitting session. Glued to mast, but loose at bottom to be glued to hull once in bottle, hopefully! ?

My bad I forgot about the spar pictures! Basically I just make a small ring and then pinch it shut in the hole I drilled at 90deg through the mast, also have an angled cut end and it just sits against the mast. Bit fiddly but so far has worked really well.

Stole the idea from the bath plug and chain!

Made small split pins, poked through hole in mast then  cut off excess wire and bend/wrap two halves round either side of mast.

Disaster over, all repainted. Rigging at last, shrouds first, made a weave jig with some coke bottle plastic underneath so I can superglue the lines together and it’ll still peel off when I cut it out.
