I live about 100 miles inland from the coast in North Carolina. Matthew is dumping lots of rain and winds strong enough to bring trees down. There are reports of 10 inches of rain so far just south of me. Here are a few pictures of my ditch which is always dry flowing like a small river. I pray for all those along the eastern coast, can't imagine what they are going through right now.

Love it! The rafts were a nice extra touch. Something got my interest up but I can't find any info. I am a flag nut. Every time I see one I don't know I try to look it up but I can't find any info on the 2 on this one. Can anyone help me?

Looks great! I'm curious as to how you did the paddlewheel in the water. The pre-built part has something white pre-made on the bottom. What is that? How did you press it into the sea & keep the sea surface like you wanted it with it being at the back of the bottle & the body of the vessel itself in the way?

Awesome! I'll be following along with great interest. I don't play the games but I'm familiar with this because I have used desktop backgrounds of this on my computer. I have actually wondered about doing this but never found those detailed pictures of the layout of the ship.

Coming along nicely Daniel. I really like the Lake Champlain sloop. Years ago when I was a teenager & first started carving out ships from scratch one of the firs ones I made was a Lake Chaplain sloop from a drawing in one of Chapelle's books.

Being disabled and very limited income this could be a good opportunity for me. I just might need some help from those who know these books better than I do. Do we pick one for each person? I have The Ship modelers Assistant.

Welcome to the group Sapper! I had Great Uncles & a Grandfather in the Navy & a few in the Coast guard here in the U.S. I used to love to listen to my Grandpa tell me stories of his Navy adventures in WW2.
